Barriers to Active Travel (2022) - Collaborative research to understand barriers to active travel in Bradford.

Between July and September 2022 Street Space were commissioned by the Bradford-Shipley Travel Alliance to engage with local people to understand how they travel around (and through) the two Bradford neighbourhoods of Owlet and Frizinghall.

Using collaborative research methods we worked with residents to understand transport choices for short journeys and generate ideas to reduce car traffic to make it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle.
We engaged over 200 local residents through a range of creative engagement methods including the recruitment of a local young producer, on-street pop-ups, interviews and activities like walking groups, litter picks and the #glowup of a alley way for those travelling on-foot.

This project was completed whilst working as Head of Engagement at Street Space alongside Phillippa Banister. The report on key findings can be found here.
